Meet Dr. DaN

Running for the MN Senate SD 48, Dr. Dan Kessler has made Chaska his home. With his wife Michelle, they have raised their family in Chaska and their children have attended Eastern Carver County Schools. Dan is a psychologist working with people to seek solutions to problems and live healthier, happier lives.

Dan is a member of the Chaska Curling Center and plays on a mediocre team that enjoys the camaraderie of friendly competition.

From a family that valued hard work, community involvement and education, his grandparents immigrated to this country in search of the American Dream. As first generation Americans, Dan’s parents were the first in their families to attend college. Building on their success, Dan earned a doctorate from Florida Tech and has served in a variety of volunteer and leadership roles in the community, including sitting on the boards of several non-profit organizations.

As a cancer survivor and a healthcare professional, he knows both sides of the healthcare experience with a critical and potentially costly diagnosis. A small business owner, Dan built a thriving psychology practice, and today sees patients from across the country via telehealth.

As a psychologist, Dan listens to people struggling to balance work and family in a conflicted world and works with them to problem solve. With our support, Dan will take his family, work and community experiences to St. Paul to represent our families and author legislation that supports our quality of life and builds on that for future generations.

Valuing public service as well as the importance of using common goals to bring people together, Dan is running for the Minnesota Senate to take his solution-focused collaboration skills to St. Paul and give voice to ALL local residents.
